I'm a Director of IT for an ethanol manufacturer.  However, we're in a sales process, so I'll likely be looking for a new job between March and summertimeish.  Keep me in mind!

I'd like to get more experience in different facets of business, marketing, project management, etc., and be more well rounded.  I'm shooting to be a CxO and sit on boards by the time I retire.

Also, I want to be able to spoil my daughter rotten, and pay for her med or architectural school.

I own a property tax lending business.  We make property tax loans to residential and commercial property owners that need assistance paying their property taxes.  If you know anyone that needs help with their property taxes, send them to http://www.propertytaxfunding.com/.

Owning my own business over the past three years has been challenging, rewarding, and more work than I ever imagined.  I call it the real life MBA (nothing against those pursuing their MBA as that takes a ton of work and commitment also).

It’s been interesting to read the blog and see the diversity of all the professionals at crossfitstrong.

I am a physical therapist. I was hired by a celebrity (I cannot reveal who it is) as their private PT which leaves me with a lot of free time, thats what brought me to Dallas. If anyone needs any kind of musculoskeletal help, I am happy to help :)

It's probably pretty obvious what I do for a living with my profile pic. I'm the Executive Chef ( and Food & Beverage Dir) for Dallas National Golf Club. I've been in the industry for over 15  years, and have worked in private business clubs, country club, hotels, indepenent restaurants, and corporate restaurants. I am fortunate that my profession is my passion. If you haven't been to one of the socials, you should come to the next one....I usually bring a snack or two.

I hang out with 12, 13 and 14 yr olds everyday as a middle school counselor in Frisco.  Everyday is a new adventure!  Needless to say, it keeps me young and I love it!

How awesome is this and such a simple question. Our Crossfit box could probably run the world with the careers we span.

    I
moved up from San Antonio 3 months ago where I was working as a
freelance interior designer and set designer/artist. Now I'm a design
project manager for an interior design firm right up the road from the
box, in Carrollton, Baker Design Group!
http://www.baker-designgroup.com/  I love love love my job and
everything creative! I also do commissioned paintings on the side.

I work at Encana Oil & Gas and I'm the USA Category Manager for directional drilling and cementing services.  I support the drilling teams by negotiating rates/prices, drafting contracts, distributing & analyzing bid packages, and work with suppliers to get the most bang for our buck.

I work for a military broker.  We represent large companies to all military channels worldwide.  I work on the best account...alcohol!!!  Lots of great benefits with that, but they aren't too conducive for CrossFit!!
  • KellyC 11/28/2011 10:11:07

Director of Corporate Communications for Essential Formulas Inc., distributor of Dr. Ohhira's Probiotics.  Lots of travel which is why I often miss weeks at a time :(

I'm currently in Treasury Management Implementation at Wells Fargo and I'm wrapping up my Masters in IT & Management @ UTD. I'm defitnitely looking for something different. Becoming a professional soccer coach would be great but I'll probably have to settle for something like project management.
  • KatherineM 11/28/2011 07:34:38

I serve tables at The Ranch in Las Colinas, job hunting on the side. Started in Healthcare (Lighthouse Hospice), moved to nanotechnology (Authentix, Inc.), ended up in commercial real estate (Swearingen Group & Mohr Partners). Human resource management, recruitment & benefits but I got a BA in Marketing/PR so social media marketing looks attractive.
  • SarahH 11/27/2011 00:40:17

this has been interesting to read through.....  let's see, i'm a licensed architect and started my own company a year ago after having worked at Cunningham Architects (a high end mostly residential firm) and GFF Architects (a mostly commercial firm where i worked mostly on Crate&Barrel Homestores nationwide).  i do pretty much all things design.  i love my "jpb".

most recently, though, i have been a round the clock feeding machine for a tiny growing girl that will grow up to be a stellar crossfitter at strong. she already eats, sleeps, and poops for time.
  • EricShaw 11/25/2011 18:14:26

great question Andy. it's cool to see what everybody does in a snapshot. I'm a Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery. I have an independent practice (which means i work with many different physicians) and am currently in a group with 9 other PAs. We serve the entire Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex and as far away as Waco, Witchita Falls and Lufkin. Long hours plus nights and weekend call is partly why i crossfit. otherwise, i'd go insane (..... more insane).
  • JustinBell 11/23/2011 10:34:31

I'm a vice president at Credera, a technology consulting firm (i.e., we do large IT projects like eCommerce, mobile, portals, etc. for big companies).  If you know someone interested, we're hiring www.credera.com.
  • AmyL 11/22/2011 09:50:07

EricS...you work at One Technologies? My friend Alex Chang built that company with his brother Roger a long time ago. I've known Alex for about 16 years!  He is one of my oldest friends from college.
    Small world!
  • HeatherM 11/21/2011 17:24:33

I am a Learning Media Designer for FedEx Office, located in the Galleria.  I create Web Based Training and Assessments for Field Sales and Operations.  When and only when I am needed, I develop/design and conduct Instructor Led Training as well.
  • AmyL 11/21/2011 09:32:52

I own an internet company (public records research company) that has been in existence since 1997!  I purchased the company in Nov 2005 and have been running it alone ever since.  So when someone wants to research information about a person such as judgments, liens, bankruptcies, addresses, conviction records, etc...I perform that research.
I am also an Attorney and have worked on multiple litigation cases.  I have worked on several high profile cases you may have heard about on the news (working on them has not been as glamourous and glorious as you might think).  The most recent one involved locating documents pertinent to an investigation for the Department of Treasury.  @Chris Adams...you are the manager that works for the electronic evidence provider that gets things ready for these big legal teams involved in large-scale litigation cases, I am part of the legal team that goes out and works on those projects.  I accept about 4-5 of these per year and they last 1-3 months.  While I am not really doing what I am passionate about and have been trying to exit the field for a few years now, I must admit that both careers provide a significant amount of freedom, flexibility, and independence.  Ready for a change - but not giving it up for anything less than what I am passionate about doing!
  • NydiaS 11/21/2011 08:26:51

Cool, I didn't know our box had so many working grad students! I don't know how y'all do it. I only work part time and I feel like I'm barely keeping up in school. Anyway, I'm a research assistant at UNT, where I'm working towards a Ph.D. in higher education. I work in the higher ed program and I'm currently doing research on American Indian/Alaska Native student transfer issues and Latina/o student college readiness and success. I basically do a lot of reading and writing at this point. No field work yet. Oh, and I also work the noon childcare here at box on Mondays and Fridays!

I'm currently juggling two jobs while I finish up an MBA at UTD.  I am a bass player in the Dallas Opera Orchestra and still sub occasionally with the Fort Worth Symphony.  If anyone is into opera, let me know and I might be able to track down some extra tickets.  I am also working as an analyst in the Merchandise Intelligence group at 7-Eleven corporate headquarters building models in Excel and will soon start doing a lot of SAS and SPSS.  First time I've ever had a job with a cube, but it's not that bad and I have a nice view of the opera house from my office.
  • ChristenJ 11/19/2011 13:37:31

I'm an Emergency Room nurse, I do all kinds of things that you probably don't want to know about, so basically I take care of people when they need help. Sometimes I feel like a glorified drug dealer other days a glorified butt wiper. Now you know why I NEED Crossfit!
  • SpencerS 11/17/2011 17:12:08

I am a rate analyst for BenefitMall (an insurance general agent) in a building that we run by every time we do a mile+ run.  "Rate analyst" is fancy for "dude who looks at spreadsheets a lot".  That is how I make money.  I make fun by doing acting and stand-up comedy.  One day, I hope to make fun and make money at the same time.
  • ChrisAdams 11/17/2011 16:59:10

I'm a manager for an electronic evidence service provider and software company.  I run an office of software developers and litigation support specialists who make it possible for legal teams to review all the documents involved in a lawsuit or regulatory investigation. I pretty much have my hands in everything we do.
  • CodyH 11/17/2011 16:21:14

I am President and co-founder of Prestige Worldwide.....oh, and I also invented Post-Its

I work for Ernst & Young (Public Accounting Firm) in their Risk Advisory practice. What that that means is I am usually involved with internal audit, IT audit, regulatory compliance, and other risk related activities for client firms. In summary, I look at a computer screen all day clicking on things.
  • DavidG 11/17/2011 15:04:57

I'm a Project Manager for Texas Sterling Constrution. We build roads, highways, bridges and etc. I mainly work out of the area office in Grande Prairie and visit my jobs about once a week, which are from Fort Worth to Greenville.
  • MichelleM 11/17/2011 13:32:44

I'm currently addicted to Pinterest when I should be doing my job as a Financial Analyst for Interstate Batteries....don't tell my boss.  Interstate is a great company to work for if you're looking for a job - http://corporate.interstatebatteries.com/careers/
